To our readers,
As a recent college graduate, I would like to think I am ready for the big, bad “real world” with all of its challenges, including only wearing business attire and not having Jinza within driving distance. However, as a 21-year-old who still has the tendency to act like a 9-year-old in the presence of Marvel superheroes and cotton candy, I’m terrified… but just as equally excited.
And of course, leaving Cal Poly Pomona also denotes my giving up the position of editor-in-chief at ten57 magazine, the beloved product of my and my colleagues’ sweat, tears and lack of sleep.
ten57 has been such an integral part of my growing and learning experience at Cal Poly Pomona. I’m eternally grateful to have had the opportunity of working with all those involved, especially Dr. Dhingra and the rest of the editorial staff. But the time has come for me to pass on the magazine’s reign to my predecessor, Alyssa Casas.
Alyssa has the passion and energy necessary for an emerging magazine to continue its growth and rise to success. She’s an excellent writer, and her bubbly personality is infectious. I trust that she will maintain the magazine’s mission of catering to the less-known and cover what deserves recognition and is newsworthy.
I would like to take this time to quote an orange haired pop princess named after L-ascorbic acid: “As we go on, we remember all the times we had together. And as our lives change, from whatever, we will still be friends forever.”
It’s been real, ten57 mag.
